GoodTherapy.org

GoodTherapy.org unites therapists and the general public by disseminating mental health news and information, challenging mental health stigma, and promoting ethical therapy.

L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center - Mental Health Services

The center provides a broad array of services for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. They offer low-cost brief counseling and crisis intervention for individuals, couples, and groups. They also provide services for those who are unable to pay.

National Eating Disorders Association

Supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders and serves as a catalyst for prevention, cures and access to quality care.

Our House

Our House provides community-based grief support services. Group counseling for children, adolescents, and adults. Groups specific to age and relationship to the deceased, i.e. for the death of a partner, sibling, child, parent, etc. They allow payment on a sliding scale.

SIMS Foundation

SIMS Foundation provides low-cost counseling and other mental health services tailored specifically to the needs of musicians and their families.

Southern California Counseling Center

Provides counseling with sliding scale fees for individuals, couples, families, and groups. Groups include Rage Resolution (focus on gangs), Domestic Violence (batterers and victims), and Teens.

The Actors Fund Mental Health Services Program

Helps entertainment industry professionals and their families to deal with a wide array of issues including work and personal stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions and ongoing supportive services. Social workers provide short term treatment, crisis intervention, advocacy and connections to community treatment resources.

The Maple Counseling Center

The Maple Center provides counseling for individuals, couples, and adolescents. Session fees are approximately $25.

The Saturday Center for Psychotherapy

Provides counseling for individuals, couples, and adolescents. Fees are on a sliding scale. Accepts Medicare and some PPO plans.

The Valley Community Clinic

The Clinic provides counseling for individuals, couples, groups, and adolescents. They do not accept MediCal. Session fees are approximately $15+.

Women's Clinic & Family Counseling Center

This clinic provides counseling and workshops for individuals (male/female), couples, and groups. Session fees are $30+/sliding scale. The clinic is open weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.

American Psychiatric Association - Patients and Families

Affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association and offers a host of articles and mental health resources as well as the "Locate a Psychiatrist" tool.

American Psychological Association

A resource for articles on mental health and wellness topics. It also has a national search tool for locating psychologists.

Geriatric Mental Health Foundation

This site provides information on alcohol and drug misuse, dementias, caregiving, depression and psychiatry in the geriatric community. It also has a national "Find A Geriatric Psychiatrist" tool.

Help Starts Here

Affiliated with the National Association of Social Workers and has an online library of articles on health, mental health, wellness, family and aging issues. A national social work finder is also provided.
